HOW TOYS FOR TOTS WORKS

Anyone who wishes to receive toys for underprivileged children should contact their local community aid organizations, their local church, school or hospital. You may contact United Way: Gifts In Kind by dialing 311 during the Christmas Holiday Season.

WHAT KIND OF TOYS CAN NOT BE USED BY TOYS FOR TOTS

Not all toys can be accepted by Toys For Tots. While the need is great for all toys, certain items cannot be delivered by Toys for Tots:

  • STUFFED ANIMALS: Due to hygienic problems and children allergies, many hospitals and other institutions no longer accept STUFFED ANIMALS.
  • TOYS SUCH AS: Guns, knives, brass knuckles, handcuffs, whips and chains (while these items are fun for grown-ups) they CAN NOT be delivered by Toys For Tots.

GREATEST NEED TOYS

Over the years the TOYS FOR TOTS PROGRAM has noticed the two groups that orders are hard to fill due to lack of donations:

  • INFANTS: Ages 6 months to 2 year old. Both boy and girl.
  • TEENAGE GIRLS: Ages 12 - 15 year old. While teenage boys are easy to shop for by purchasing basketballs, baseballs, gloves ,bats, or any other sports related objects, TEENAGE GIRLS often go unnoticed. Arts and Craft items are great suggestions for this age group. When purchasing these items make sure the packaging is secure and tightly sealed as not to open and scatter items everywhere.
